Parts We Carry
Serenada's housing sits close together in age, clustered around 1981, tighter than Georgetown's overall range of 1957 to 2018. That matters for panels because a door built in the early 80s used steel gauges and panel heights that newer manufacturers don't carry as a direct match.
Mid-grade steel sections
We stock a run of common panel widths and the mid-grade steel sections that fit the double and single doors still hanging on these houses, plus the fasteners and end stiles that came standard on that era's builds.
Embossing pattern matches
What we don't carry on the truck is a match for every discontinued embossing pattern. If your door has a wood-grain panel pattern from a maker that's since folded, we tell you that up front instead of pretending a close-enough panel will blend in.
Visibly newer sections
Sometimes the honest answer is a new section that's visibly newer until the whole door gets painted, not a seamless fix. With only 573 households in this pocket, the inventory that moves fastest here leans toward replacement sections sized for those early-80s doors, not the wider range Georgetown's newer builds call for.

How We Fix It
We start by checking whether the dent or crack is isolated to one section or whether the impact bent the track or hinge stile along with it.
Thin-gauge panel checks
On a door from 1981, the steel runs thinner than current code minimums, so a bent panel often brings a tweaked roller track with it, and that gets checked before anything is ordered. If the section is sound elsewhere, we unbolt the damaged panel, pull the hinges and rollers, and bolt in the replacement, matching the existing color as close as stock allows.
Same-visit hardware correction
If the track or hinge is also bent, we straighten or swap that hardware in the same visit rather than bolting a new panel to bent metal that'll just dent it again. We don't try to hammer out structural damage and call it fixed - a panel that's been crushed at the corner usually needs replacing outright, not reshaping.
Rebalancing after panel swaps
For houses in this area built in the same stretch as most of Serenada's stock, we've found the fix is rarely just the one panel; the opener balance and spring tension usually need a recheck once the door's weight changes.
How Long It Takes
A single-panel swap on a door we already stock the match for is usually a same-visit job once we're on site. The 3-mile run from our Georgetown shop means we're not burning half a day in transit before we start.
Manufacturer order timelines
What slows things down is a panel we don't carry on the truck - for an older or discontinued profile, that can mean ordering from the manufacturer, which isn't something we control the timeline on.
Stock versus special order
We'll tell you at the estimate whether your door's panel is a stock match or a special order, and give you a real window instead of a guess.
Multi-panel visit length
Multi-panel damage, or damage that's bent the track along with the steel, adds time on site because we're correcting hardware alignment, not just swapping a section. We'd rather tell you it's a two-visit job up front than rush a fix that comes loose in six months.
The Symptom
Most calls start the same way: a dent from a car bumper, a cracked panel from a basketball or a stray branch, or steel that's rusted through at the bottom section where water sits. On the 1981-era doors common in Serenada, that bottom-panel rust shows up more than on newer doors, because the galvanizing and drainage gaps on older steel sections weren't built to the same standard. You'll notice it as flaking paint along the bottom edge, or a section that flexes more than the others when the door's halfway up. A single dented panel on an otherwise solid door is a straightforward swap. A door with rust through more than one section, or with panels that no longer sit flush against each other, is usually past the point where patching one section makes sense - that's a full door replacement conversation, and we'll say so rather than sell you a panel that won't outlast the rest of the door.
